Topic: Doing research in Translation Studies: A technological focus on translation with games, fans and communities

In this seminar I discuss conducting translation studies research from a perspective of technologies. Drawing on my experience of supervising and working in the areas of game localization, fan translation and crisis translation in communities, I will cover key building blocks such as setting research questions, applying for ethical approval and methodological explorations. Time allowing, I will discuss some tips for preparing articles for submission in journals, based on working as journal editor.
